Israel

To be totally honest, I haven't seen enough of Israel to really comment. I have only been to Eilat, which everyone says "isn't really Israel." It's just a tourist town on the southernmost point, mainly just a big shopping and diving resort town. It's a dramatic change from Egypt, that's for sure. It's much more modernized and much cleaner than Egypt, and people in general are easier to deal with, but they can still be rude, and they're terrible when it comes to bargaining. I saw more of the Israelis as customers in a dive shop where I worked in Egypt than I did in Israel, and they were horrible about bargaining for every little thing. They always wanted a discount on everything, for any reason you can think of and then some. In general, though, I found them to be friendly people. Scenery wasn't much, and there aren't any monuments in Eilat, but obviously Israel is full of ancient Judeao-Christian monuments and archaeological sites. Israel is also considerably more expensive than Egypt. And, unfortunately, that's all I can say about Israel.
