When you think of going to a big city, the first thing that pops to your mind is probably not camping. Langoyene, however, is really a great place to stay if you're visiting Oslo. There are no cars on Langoyene, and the only way to get there is by ferry, the cost of which is covered under a day pass, which also covers buses, trams and the subway. The price is only 60NOK ($7.80US) for two people in a tent, plus 30NOK for each additional person. Weekly and monthly rates also available.

The only real problem with staying on Langoyene is that it's quite easy to get stuck there or not be able to get back, because the ferry only runs once an hour, and only from 10:00am until about 8:00pm. So, if you want to stay out late in the city, this is not the place to stay. My other gripe with the place is that a key to the shower facilities costs 20NOK, which seemed a bit extortionate to me.
