Welcome to our Marathon film archives! This is just a beginning page, with
improvements to come in the near-future.
(And if you're already wondering, yes, my shooting is much less
amateurish than my HTML. ;)
The Films
Kill-Fest
#1 (292 k): Nine films of our escapades on 4/14/01, includes two-, three-
and four-player games.
Starcraft Kill-Fest #1 (1 MB): These are films of
David, Martina and I playing the new Starcraft patch 1.08 b, which adds the
lovely new feature of saving replays! The archive includes five games.
One-on-One Films
These are generally films of my best Marathon buddy, David Weingarten (davidw@aracnet.com) and I playing one-on-one in the House of Pain. All films have been patched, so that you aren't forced to watch from my point of view only. They are pretty darned good filims, I must say, take a look!
David's Extreme Ultimate
Suckage Film (40 k): Sometimes you're the windshield; sometimes, you're the
bug.
Seth's Extreme Ultimate Suckage Film
(40k): Hey, only twelve kills behind? No problemo!
Harsh Shootouts 101 (40k): This one comes
out even, by various twists and turns, with some of the most amazing shooting
we've done, ever. Note that David smears me with two rockets almost
simultaneously in the final moments...
Despair (36 k): There are some exceedingly
cool shots in this film, too. One is a "see ya" rocket from David as
I'm emerging into the arena late in the film; another is David missing me with
a rocket as I leave the arena. You'll know it as you see it -- I weave around
the rocket, and then run through the explosion as it goes before me. Oh yeah, that
was on purpose...
Old Kill-Fests
Note that the readme files in these archives don't reflect our current email addresses.
The First Kill-Fest (232 k): This is our first night of Marathon net play, back in January of 1996. We sucked! But it was still great fun.
Volume 2 (548 k) : I've lost the date on this, but I believe this game night also occurred in 1996. It doesn't suck as aggressively as the first night did.. in fact, there's some decent shooting in these films, by our standards now.
The Marathon 2 Film Patcher (12 k): A very handy utility that patches M2 films so that you can switch point of view using the delete key. Note that this puts all players on the 'blue' team, so that all corpses are blue. =)
